I have known Caroline for almost a year now, as I have been attending her "dog obedience training" classes, (having completed three levels from puppy to advanced, one evening per week. I have also attended two of her scent work day workshops.I have always found Caroline to be friendly, cheerful, easy to talk to and affable towards everyone in her classes and all the dogs absolutely love her. I have seen her work with a variety of different people and with a huge range of different breeds and ages of dog. With all she is patient and kind, helping humans to handle their dogs with confidence and clarity, whilst encouraging dogs to enjoy their learning. Caroline is full of useful "tips" for enhancing training and for bringing more pleasure to owning and caring for a dog. Caroline also has a charming sense of fun and humour, which she uses to good effect to relieve any tensions in owners- a most admirable "teaching" skill. Her classes are always fun.During training classes Caroline plans each session carefully, providing a breadth and variety of exercises, tasks and challenges, adjusting and adapting the exercises to differentiate appropriately, for the differing size and breed of dog and the relevant expertise (or not!) of the owner.Caroline provides just enough challenge, whilst revising and reaffirming skills, where appropriate. Her communication is always clear and precise, she is careful to explain the unique intelligence and the workings of the dog's mind, in order that owners really understand how a dog learns and the best ways to train.I have learnt more about dogs in the last year, from Caroline, than in the whole rest of my life. She makes everything seem simple, she is able to demonstrate what is needed with any and every dog, who all love her!Caroline is also able to teach owners how to solve any problems or dog training difficulties pertinent to individual dogs.My own dog was quite a crazy pup but with Caroline's help and patient expertise, 'Jaz' is now a socialised, sensible and mostly calm one year old.
Caroline has been a saviour.
Her thoughtful approach to dog training, coupled with up to date knowledge of force free and positive behavioural training was just what I had been looking for.
My terrier mix gets very frustrated on the lead, which results in very noisy behaviour which can easily spill into aggression. I had learnt the hard way that traditional punishment and aversive techniques didn't work.
Caroline has been working with me throughout the year and we are really seeing progress in teaching Ginger more acceptable behaviour patterns.
